Microbiome Protocol

14 days for abdominal lightness, clear skin, and stable serotonin synthesis.

The gut as a second brain

The gut is a second brain and the main mood factory. Up to 90% of serotonin — the hormone of happiness and calm — is synthesized here.

Bloating, heaviness, and dull skin signal that inner balance is off: active fermentation has started and pathogenic flora is draining the body's energy. This protocol rebuilds microbiome architecture in three sequential steps.

Protocol parameters

Goal Abdominal lightness, clear skin, stable serotonin synthesis
Duration 14 days

Stopping fermentation · Days 1–4

Action: pause on sugar, gluten, and cow's milk (lactose).

Science: yeasts and pathogenic bacteria run out of favorite fuel and fermentation stops quickly. Bloating eases, the abdomen flattens by day three, and the body sheds hidden water retention.

Barrier healing · Days 5–9

What happens: irritated intestinal walls often have micro-cracks through which toxins enter the blood, causing fatigue and skin breakouts. This phase gently restores the mucosa.

Foods: bone broth — collagen and amino acids for mucosal repair; quality butter (82.5%) — butyrate that calms cellular inflammation; coconut oil — lauric acid as a gentle natural antiseptic.

Seeding and feeding new flora · Days 10–14

What happens: beneficial bacteria colonize the cleansed, healed terrain and need quality resources to multiply.

Foods: unpasteurized sauerkraut — a powerful natural probiotic; spinach, zucchini, and fresh greens — prebiotic fiber and an ideal medium for friendly bacteria.

Sample day

  • Morning: airy omelet in coconut oil with fresh spinach generously dressed with Extra Virgin olive oil for gentle bile flow
  • Day: baked turkey (tryptophan source) with arugula and a portion of sauerkraut for active fermentation
  • Evening: warm bone broth and stewed zucchini — cooked vegetables in the evening ease GI load and leave energy for nightly cellular recovery
